These terms cover this website (marcohome.app), the Marco software and the hosted service Marco Cloud (app.marcohome.app). By using them you agree to these terms. Questions: hello@marcohome.app.

Who provides Marco

Marco, this website and Marco Cloud are provided by the person who runs the Marco project (name to be published here before launch). Notices and questions: hello@marcohome.app.

The software

Marco is open source software released under the MIT License. You may use, copy, change and share it under that license. The license says the software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. Third-party components keep their own licenses, listed in the repository.

When you self-host Marco, you run it on your own hardware or accounts and you are responsible for that installation, its security settings and the data in it.

The installer

The command curl -fsSL https://marcohome.app/install | bash downloads the install script from the public Marco repository. We recommend reading it before you run it. Run it only on machines you control.

Marco Cloud

Marco Cloud is not open yet. When it opens, these points will apply, together with any additional terms shown when you sign up:

• The service is planned to be free and is offered on a best effort basis. We do our best to keep it available and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted.
• Use it for your own family or household. Do not use it to store illegal content, to harm others, or to try to break or overload the service.
• You keep all rights to the photos and data you add. You give us permission to store and process them only to run the service for you.
• You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
• If we ever need to change the service in a major way or stop it, we will tell account holders by email at least 30 days before and give you a way to export your data.

How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy.

This website

The content of this website is provided for information. We try to keep it correct and up to date, but features described as coming soon may change.

Trademarks

Marco is an independent open source project. Google Calendar, Raspberry Pi, Cloudflare, Home Assistant and other names are trademarks of their owners and are used only to describe compatibility.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from the use of the website, the software or Marco Cloud. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the country where the provider named above is established. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of your country of residence, and you can bring a claim in the courts there.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date above shows the latest version. For important changes to Marco Cloud we will tell account holders in advance.
